Cheilech:

Supporting Religious Female Lone Soldiers

Cheilech is a dedicated support organization for Religious Female Lone Soldiers and young women considering and preparing for military service.

We provide comprehensive guidance and individual support during every stage of their military journey – from pre-enlistment preparation and service placement, to ongoing assistance during active duty.

Cheilech is here to give you strength, clarity, and a sense of family during your service
– because your courage deserves support.

Our name is based on the pasuk from Tehillim:

יְהִי שָׁלוֹם בְּחֵילֵךְ שַׁלְוָה בְּאַרְמְנוֹתָיִךְ (תהילים קכ”ב:ז)

Playing off the Hebrew word for a female soldier, we pray that your army service will be peaceful.

Who We Help

Post-October 7th, an overwhelming spirit of Jewish pride and Zionism inspired young Jews living in Israel and around the world to volunteer to serve in the IDF. Recognizing that many religious girls were enlisting without proper preparation, Cheilech was founded to help them navigate their service in the best possible way, preserving their religious identity and upholding their halachic standards.

How We Help

Our services include providing accurate information and counseling, mentorship and community connections, logistical assistance, problem resolution, access to religious resources and services, and personal encouragement. By addressing their practical and spiritual needs, Cheilech helps Religious Female Lone Soldiers to  navigate military service with confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of mission.

Cheilech exists to support women in their journey to become Religious Lone Soldiers – Chayalot Bodedot Datiot – according to the three elements of their identity:

Chayelet

Bodeda

Datia

Disclaimer: Cheilech’s Position on Religious Girls serving in the Army:

We neither encourage nor discourage girls from serving in the IDF. We aim to support those who have already chosen to serve and strive to assist them in executing their service in the best way possible while preserving (and improving) their relationship with Hashem and Halacha. We also provide guidance and up-to-date information to those who inquire, deliberating whether to draft into the IDF, advising each case individually and on a case-by-case basis.
